Program Assistant (Part time)
The American Independent Business Alliance seeks an entry level Program Assistant in our Bozeman headquarters.
AMIBA is a national 501c3 non-profit organization working to support vital local economies based on independent, locally-owned businesses and prevent their displacement by global corporations. We help communities across the U.S. and Canada form and successfully operate local Independent Business Alliances that unite citizens, independent businesses and civic groups ensure ongoing opportunities for entrepreneurs, and engage citizens in directing the development of their community . These IBAs engage in public education, group purchasing, marketing, and advocacy.
AMIBA is a long-time leader in the Localization Movement. Our work is cutting-edge, and new programs are explored and implemented regularly.
We seek a part time Program Assistant eager to learn and perform multiple roles under the supervision of the Executive Director in our downtown Bozeman (home-based) office. The work environment is casual and creative, and the coffee always is on (we do not discriminate -- tea drinkers are welcome to apply).
Responsibilities include:
- Assist staff in managing office and provide general administrative support;
- Contact affiliates and prospective organizers on a routine basis;
- Research;
- Assist with campaign and event development and execution;
- Database management and maintenance;
- Respond to inquiries and order fulfillment ;
- Potential for much more responsibility with the right, motivated candidate
Qualifications :
- Solid computer skills with all basic programs;
- Experience with graphing, graphics, InDesign, and FileMaker not essential, but a plus;
- Strong writing skills;
- Organized, efficient, and detail oriented;
- Work effectively in a team environment;
- Prior work experience with non-profits preferred
For individuals with fundraising experience, a full-time combined position may be possible.
Compensation: Starting pay: $10 - $14/hr, depending on skills and experience. 15 - 30 hrs/week. We are presently unable to offer benefits.
